Disenfranchised By The GOP

Posted by Candleman on February 6, 2008

If the Republican Party used the popular vote to determine our candidate we’d have practically as close a race as the Democrats do.  Instead, my vote was not considered because of the winner take all methods the Party has chosen to determine their candidate.  This political maneuvering has left me feeling bitter and disenfranchised.  Clearly, party organizers are moving to take the party away from the people.  Clearly, the party is drifting intentionally to the left and leaving conservative America behind.

When Ann Coulter made her bold declaration to support Hillary last week I choked.  When I watched what transpired on Super Tuesday, I gagged.  In my eyes, there’s nothing grand about the GOP and we’ll find ourselves moving from choking, to gagging, to vomiting, soon.

For a more hopeful view of the mess, read The Mouse That Roared.

I know how you feel–I feel the same way about the winner take all electoral college system that most states use. I feel that is truly un-, or even anti-democratic.
