My, most geography minded brother-in-law, SpiderWings (aka SpiderTracks) has sent me this great little contest of the mind. Try it here. On my first attempt I managed to get 431,782 points, giving me and IQ of 117. I was pretty pleased with that but was sure disappointed I didn’t get a shot at level 12. I will try again, probably several times.

Level 12 was rediculous!
I was online today looking for an image to get ideas for a SpiderWings avatar and googled images for spiderwings expecting very little as spiders usually don’t have wings. Imagine my surprise to find at the top of the search results a cartoon picture with a guy pointing at the world map and under it was someone with the same nickname as mine… SpiderWings. I thought “thats cool.” But then I saw a line or two down below that my geocaching nickname SpiderTracks and thought “what is this???!!!”
I shoulda known that the name carpecrustulum was gong to be popping up soon… as it did. Thanks once again for including me in you blog Carp.
Your post about the geography game inspired me to give it another try just now. I still only got to level 11 with a score of 490,474 and a geography IQ of 124 which is a bit higher than my first try.
But other readers of this blog entry need to know that I talked to carpecrustulum the other night and found out that he has made it into level 12!! So therefore and henceforth (for a while anyway) I bequeeth the title of “My, most geography minded brother-in-law” back to him.
by the way…. you mentioned another geography puzzle/game to me… the one placing the states into a blank map. Do you have a link to it somewhere here?
I really thought I would do better at this. I guess I’ve let my geography slip. I only made it to level 6, and I forgot to check what my IQ was. I was only like 5,000 pts from making it to level 7 though.
I was pretty proud of a few of my hits. Only 36 miles from Jerusalem, only 32 miles from the Galapogas (that was almost all luck), and only 16 miles from the Panthenon.
2nd try I made it to level 8
Traveler’s IQ: 101
That’s tough!!
